BALTIMORE, Md. With a condensed postseason roster, the Methodist track & field teams competed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on the campus of Goucher College on Wednesday, taking on squads from other NCAA Division III schools located along the east coast and in the northeastern part of the United States.
Despite not bringing a full arsenal of athletes, the Monarchs captured third place out of 10 teams on the men's side and fifth place out of nine teams on the women's side. In the men's standings, Methodist totaled with 128 points, finishing just six points shy of second–place McDaniel College.

TOP WOMEN'S PERFORMERS
- Methodist brought just four women to the meet, and all four scored points. Leading the way was Treazure Rosario Watson, who took first place in both the long jump (5.35 m) and the triple jump (10.67 m) to score 20 points for the Monarchs.
- Scoring in three events, Rebecca McGaughnea, placed second in the hammer throw (with a personal–record mark of 38.31 meters), fourth in the discus throw and sixth in the shot put.
- Finishing second in the 400–meter hurdles and fourth in the 100–meter hurdles, Katena Morrison totaled 13 points for the Monarchs. Contributing four points from a fifth–place finish in the shot put was Carmin Davis.
TOP MEN'S PERFORMERS
- Methodist dominated in the long jump competition, posting four of the top five marks. Leading the way was Ke Edwards with a personal–record leap of 6.90 meters. David Dennis took second (6.78 m) with Jeremiah Freeman (6.55 m) and Joshua Freeman (6.20 m) claiming the fourth and fifth spots. Lavon Aiken rounded out the Monarch jumpers with an eighth–place jump of 5.98 meters.
- Jeremiah Freeman and Dennis excelled in the triple jump as well, posting a 1–2 finish in the event with marks of 13.92 and 13.49 meters respectively. Also posting a 1–2 finish on the day were Tydrick Stewart and Logan Wade in the 100–meter finals. Wade narrowly nosed out Stewart as the duo crossed the line with times of 10.73 and 10.75 seconds.
- Stewart outpaced Wade in the 200–meter race, taking fourth place (22.78 seconds) while Wade finished in sixth (22.97 seconds). In the 400–meter race, Richard Schieferstein recorded a personal best with a time of 52.48 seconds.
- Vondre Nelson scored a seventh–place finish in the 110–meter hurdles (18.13 seconds), while Komla Akogo took seventh in the 400–meter hurdles (1:02.39 seconds).
- Rafael Shilengitha posted a new personal record with a sixth–place finish in the 800–meter race, almost finishing with a time of less than two minutes (2:00.14). The Monarchs also saw personal bests in the throwing events, with Tristan Bowser claiming first place in the discus throw (45.46 m) and E'Manuel Herbert taking second in the hammer throw (35.80 m).
- Methodist took second and third in the high jump competition with Carland Jones clearing 1.87 meters and Akogo clearing 1.82 meters.
- The men's 4x100–meter relay team put together an electric race, finishing only behind Catholic University (40.92 seconds) while taking second place out of six teams with a time of 41.67 seconds. It's the best time any group of four Monarchs have put together all season.
