NEW ORLEANS Three members of the Methodist track & field teams have received Outdoor Track & Field All-Region accolades, which were announced on Wednesday by the U.S.Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Komla Akogo,
David Dennis and
Treazure Rosario Watson all earned recognition in the South region for ranking in the top 5 within the region for their respective event.
Akogo, a senior from Fayetteville, North Carolina, garnered all-region status for his performance in the decathlon. Smashing his own program record, he amassed 5,224 decathlon points (the third-best mark in the region) when he competed at the Lenoir Rhyne Last Chance Meet and Multis on May 10 and 11. Out of the 10 events, he set personal bests in the 1500-meter race, javelin throw, pole vault, discus throw and shot put.
Dennis, a sophomore from Orlando, Florida, was honored for his mark in the triple jump, which ranked fifth best in the region. Dennis was one of several Monarch jumpers to see great success in 2025, leading his teammates with a top mark of 14.01 meters in the triple jump. That leap came at the USA South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where he captured the gold medal in the event.
Rosario Watson, a junior from Zebulon, North Carolina, secured all-region laurels with her mark in the long jump. While leading the Monarchs in multiple events, she posted a top distance of 5.25 meters in the long jump at the USA South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, taking first place in the competition. Her mark tied for second best in the region this season.
