CLEVELAND, Ohio  On Tuesday, the final standings of the 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup were released, with Methodist University coming in 111th place overall. Among conference leaders, the Monarchs led the USA South with 175 points.

Overall, up to 18 total sports may count towards the final Directors' Cup standings, four of which must be men's and women's basketball and men's and women's soccer, leaving the next 14 highest point-producing totals to also be counted.

Methodist accumulated 25 points back in the fall, following an NCAA tournament bid by women's soccer, and then totaled 150 more points this past spring. Making it to the regional finals, the baseball team scored 50 points during their postseason run, while the men's golf team tallied the final 100 points after capturing another national title.

Since the start of the cup, 1995-96, the Monarchs have finished either in first or second within the conference 26 times out of the 28 years this award has been given out.

About the the Learfield Directors' Cup
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Through the course of the year, Directors' Cup points are awarded based on a school's finish in up to 18 sports in NCAA Championships. New to the scoring structure several years ago in Division III, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball must be included by every school in their scoring total; the next 14 highest-scoring teams – regardless of gender – will be used.  Previously, the top nine men's and women's scoring teams could be counted; now, regardless of whether a school's soccer and basketball teams qualify for the NCAAs, they must be counted.
