GRANVILLE, Ohio Six members of the Methodist women's golf team saw action for the first time this season on Saturday during the first round of the Lynn Schweizer Invitational. After 18 holes, the Monarchs sit in sixth place out of 13 teams.

OPENING ROUND
- Eva Denten led the way for Methodist with a 76. After shooting five strokes over par on the front nine, she rebounded with three birdies on the back half.
- Competing as an individual, Paige Wilkinson shot the second–best score by a Monarch on Saturday with a 79. While her score didn't count toward the team, her +4 on the front nine and +2 on the back nine included a total of three birdies.
- Jenna Rutledge started the round five strokes over par through nine holes. She settled down on the back half with a pair of birdies to help her end the day with an 80 (+7) for the round.
- In a three–way tie for the fourth–best score by a Monarch, Liz Franchetti, Cloe Rich and Anna Wicklum all ended the round with an 84 (+11). Franchetti had the best front nine out of the three golfers, shooting six strokes over par. Wicklum put together the best back nine out of the trio, shooting just two strokes over par and capping off the day with a birdie on Hole 18.
