MONTGOMERY, Ala. After a three-week break, the Methodist women's golf team returned to action on Sunday at the 2025 Montgomery Women's Intercollegiate. The Monarchs carded a team score of 327 (+39) in the first round, placing them eighth in the standings.

OPENING ROUND
- Sophomore Cloe Rich paced the Monarchs with a six-over 78, tying for 13th individually. After a rough start, she bounced back with consecutive birdies to move back to even par before finishing with one more birdie and eight pars on her card.
- Three Monarchs–Eva Denten, Megan Kestner, and Jenna Rutledge–each posted rounds of 83 (+11) to sit tied for 29th. Kestner led the trio with two birdies, while Denten carded one. Rutledge did not record a birdie but found consistency with nine pars.
- Junior Anna Wicklum rounded out Methodist's scoring lineup with an 85 (+13), tied for 39th. Wicklum was off to a promising start with two birdies over her first eight holes, but struggled on the back nine.
- Playing as an individual, senior Rouyun Lim shot an 86 (+14) to finish the round tied for 42nd, highlighted by eight pars and one birdie.

The Monarchs will return to Montgomery Country Club on Monday for the second round of the Intercollegiate. Tee times are scheduled for 9:30 AM.
