Monarchs in 11th at Savannah Invitational After Opening Round

SAVANNAH, Ga.  After the first round of play at the Savannah Invitational, the Methodist women's golf team sits in 11th out of 19 teams, currently outperforming five teams that have higher national rankings.

OPENING ROUND
  • Kiley Donovan leads the Monarchs at one stroke over par. Starting on hole 10, she finished the back nine at two-over par before rolling through the front nine with a pair of birdies and just one bogey. She's tied for 16th on the player leaderboard entering the final round.
  • Anna Wicklum and Jenna Rutledge had similar days to each other, each recording one birdie but running into some trouble shortly after. Both scored 37 on the back nine and 41 on the front. They'll each be +5 heading into Tuesday.
  • Cloe Rich was the last to score for Methodist on Monday as she finished the round at six–over par with just one birdie. Just one stroke behind was Elizabeth Franchetti, who ended the day at +7 despite being tied with Donovan for most birdies by a Monarch on Monday (3).
UP NEXT
Round 2 will be the final round and will take place on Tuesday. The Monarchs are set to tee off at 9 a.m.
