Methodist T19 After Opening Round in Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.  Through one round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, the Methodist women's golf team is tied for 19th out of 24 squads. The Monarchs teed off on hole 10 and shot a combined 43-over-par 331 across the first 18 holes on Friday.

OPENING ROUND
  • Cloe Rich leads all Monarchs with the only top-25 score after one round. The sophomore recorded two birdies on the afternoon as she shot five strokes over par.
  • Jenna Rutledge and Anna Wicklum tied at 11-over par, with both shooting 42 (+7) on the front nine and 41 (+4) on the back nine. Both made par or better on 10 holes, with Wicklum carding the duo's only birdie of the day.  
  • Kiley Donovan finished the day on a high note with a birdie on her final hole. She shot 16 strokes over par on the round, making par or better on eight holes.
  • Megan Kestner ended the round at +20, shooting 10-over on the front half and 10-over on the back half.

The Monarchs are set to tee off the second round beginning with Kestner at 8 a.m.
