Methodist Finishes Tied for Seventh at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.  No. 9 Methodist men's golf closed out the 2026 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on Sunday with a final-round score of one-over par 289, finishing in a tie for seventh place with a three-day total of 849 (-15).

FINAL ROUND
  • After a strong start to the tournament, senior Beau Brewer carded an even-par 72 in the final round, highlighted by four birdies. Despite the slight drop on the leaderboard, Brewer finished in fifth place overall with a three-day total of 205 (-11).
  • Senior Haden Ruby continued his steady play, posting his second consecutive three-under 69. With a team-high six birdies on the day, Ruby climbed another 20 spots to finish tied for 29th with a three-round total of 213 (-3).
  • Junior Todd Moyer concluded the tournament tied for 34th at 214 (-2) after shooting a one-over 73 in the final round, recording four birdies.
  • Sophomore William Plageman finished tied for 54th with a total score of 217 (+1). He recorded three birdies during his final round, carding a three-over 75.
  • Rounding out the lineup, senior Jonny Lewis also posted a three-over 75 with four birdies, finishing tied for 83rd at 222 (+6).

Methodist will have two weeks to regroup before participating in the Capital City Classic, hosted by Huntingdon College, April 6–7.
