No. 5 Methodist Finishes Fifth at NCAA Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.  The No. 5-ranked Methodist men's golf team wrapped up play at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship on Friday, carding an even-par 288 in the final round on the El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort. The Monarchs finished fifth overall with a four-round total of 1,154 (+6).

FINAL ROUND
  • In their final collegiate rounds, seniors Beau Brewer, Jonny Lewis, and Haden Ruby each posted even-par 72s to help Methodist close out the national championship.
  • Brewer led the Monarchs in the final round with four birdies and finished tied for 43rd overall with a tournament score of 293 (+6).
  • Ruby carded three birdies during Friday's round — tied for the second-most on the team — and concluded the championship tied for 33rd at 290 (+3). Lewis added two birdies in his final collegiate appearance and finished tied for 27th with a four-round total of 289 (+2).
  • Junior Todd Moyer capped off an impressive tournament by matching the seniors with an even-par 72 in the final round. Moyer was the highest-finishing Monarch, tying for seventh overall after posting a four-round total of 283 (-4).
  • Sophomore William Plageman rounded out the lineup. Despite a difficult final round, Plageman completed the championship tied for 87th with a tournament total of 309 (+22).
