SALISBURY, Md. & YORK, Pa. The Methodist women's tennis team continued its spring break trip over the weekend, earning a pair of non-conference victories. On Saturday, the Monarchs remained in Salisbury, Maryland, defeating Gettysburg College 7–0 in a neutral-site match at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center. Methodist then traveled to York, Pennsylvania, on Sunday and posted a 6–1 victory over York College at the Myers Tennis Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED vs. GETTYSBURG
- Methodist took command of the match during doubles play, sweeping all three courts to secure the opening point. The No. 2 pair of Caitlin Tihanovich and Helen Hofmann delivered a convincing 6–0 victory, while the top tandem of Emma Hulicki and Shea Bieniek earned a 6–4 win. Katie Sechrist and Addison Haden matched that score on court three with a 6–4 victory of their own.
- Sechrist set the tone in singles play with a dominant 6–0, 6–0 sweep at the No. 5 position, while Bieniek nearly matched the performance at No. 4 singles, winning 6–1, 6–0. Hofmann followed with a 6–2, 6–1 victory at the No. 2 spot.
- At the top flight, Hulicki prevailed with identical 6–4 set scores before Tihanovich added another point for the Monarchs with a 6–1, 6–4 win at No. 3 singles. Haden completed the sweep for Methodist, winning both sets 6–1 at the No. 6 position.
Following the contest, assistant coach
Brett Karpman praised the team's effort.
"I am proud of the way the women's team fought and competed today," said Karpman. "They didn't drop a single match against a tough, well-known northern program. This was a great win for Monarch tennis."
HOW IT HAPPENED vs. YORK
- Methodist opened Sunday's match by earning a default victory at No. 3 doubles before Hulicki and Bieniek secured the doubles point with a 6–1 win at the top position. Tihanovich and Hofmann completed the doubles sweep with a 6–4 victory on court two.
- The Monarchs were also awarded a default win in singles play before Tihanovich recorded Methodist's first on-court singles victory with a 6–1, 6–2 win at the No. 2 spot. Hulicki followed with matching 6–3 set wins at the top flight, while Bieniek added another point with a pair of 7–5 set victories.
- York's lone point came at No. 4 singles, where Methodist's Helen Boeshore fell to her opponent 6–1, 6–2. The Monarchs closed the match on a high note as Wilette Rivera Morales secured a 6–0, 6–1 victory at the No. 5 position.
