FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist women's lacrosse hosted Meredith College on Tuesday evening in USA South play, with the Avenging Angels defeating the Monarchs, 16–2, inside Monarch Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Meredith opened the contest with three consecutive goals before senior Layla Wiesenfeld put the Monarchs on the board, cutting the deficit to 3–1 midway through the first quarter. The Avenging Angels added two more goals before the end of the period and continued their momentum into the second quarter, scoring six additional times to take an 11–1 lead into halftime.
- The Monarch defense responded in the third quarter, holding Meredith scoreless throughout the period. During the stretch, senior Brooke Murrell found the back of the cage for Methodist's second goal of the evening, trimming the margin to 11–2.
- In the final quarter, Meredith regained its offensive rhythm and added five more goals to close out the 16–2 conference victory.

- Murrell also contributed a strong defensive performance, finishing with five ground balls, two caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
