Ruby, Moyer Headline Five Monarchs on All-USA South Men’s Golf Teams

ROME, Ga.  The USA South Athletic Conference announced its 2026 All-Conference Men's Golf award winners on Thursday, with Methodist University well represented. Senior Haden Ruby was named the league's Player of the Year, while junior Todd Moyer earned Rookie of the Year honors. Both were also selected to the All-Conference First Team.
 
This marks the fourth time in program history the Monarchs have claimed both the conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards in the same season.

Joining Ruby and Moyer on the First Team list is senior Beau Brewer, while senior Jonny Lewis and sophomore William Plageman earned the Honorable Mention recognition. Additionally, Lewis was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.
 
Ruby becomes the 13th different Monarch to earn the league's Player of the Year honor, and the 19th overall selection in program history. The senior from New London, North Carolina, is currently ranked No. 11 nationally in Division III according to the latest Clippd rankings. Through 25 rounds, Ruby leads the USA South with a 72.1 scoring average and has recorded five top-10 finishes in nine events, including three top-five performances. Ruby also earns First Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season.

Moyer, competing in collegiate golf for the first time, has quickly established himself as one of the top players in the conference. The junior from Cornelius, North Carolina, is currently ranked No. 38 nationally in Division III and holds a 72.9 scoring average through 18 rounds. In six events this season, Moyer has posted two top-10 finishes, including one top-five result.
 
Brewer earns his second First Team All-Conference selection of his Methodist career. The senior from Dexter, Michigan, is ranked No. 16 nationally in Division III and holds a career-low 72.5 scoring average through 25 rounds this season. In nine tournaments, Brewer has recorded four top-10 finishes, including three top-five performances.

Lewis collects his second career All-Conference honor, after earning First Team recognition as a freshman. The senior from Yorba Linda, California, currently holds a 74.0 scoring average through 25 rounds and is ranked No. 79 nationally. Lewis has posted two top-20 finishes across nine events this season.

Plageman earns his first postseason honor after breaking into the starting lineup this spring. The sophomore from Swansboro, North Carolina, is ranked No. 78 nationally and owns a 73.4 scoring average through 15 rounds this season.
