FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The Methodist softball team dropped a USA South home doubleheader to Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon, falling 7–1 in Game One before being shut out 10–0 in Game Two at Price Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game 1
- Pfeiffer seized control early, scoring five runs over the first two innings to build a 5–0 lead.
- Following a pitching change in the second inning, the Monarchs settled in defensively, limiting the Falcons to just two additional runs the rest of the way—one in the fifth and one in the seventh.
- Methodist broke through in its final at-bats. Senior Alyssa Rivas and freshman Ella Poulk opened the inning with back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners. After freshman KaraBeth Benton entered as a pinch runner, she came around to score during a rundown on a stolen base attempt, accounting for the Monarchs' lone run of the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Game 2
- Game Two belonged to Pfeiffer from start to finish, as Abigail Bowman delivered a perfect game in the circle, striking out six.
- The Falcons provided plenty of run support, plating 10 runs to secure the sweep.
