Monarchs Remain in Top Five After Round Two of Nationals

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.  The No. 5-ranked Methodist men's golf team completed the second round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday, carding a three-over par 291 on the El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort. The Monarchs remain in fifth place overall with a two-round total of 575 (+3).

SECOND ROUND
  • Seniors Jonny Lewis and Haden Ruby paced Methodist in the second round, with both golfers carding even-par 72s while recording three birdies apiece.
  • Lewis climbed six spots on the leaderboard and now sits tied for 17th overall with a two-round score of 143 (E). Ruby also made a significant move, jumping 14 positions into a tie for 26th at 144 (+1).
  • Junior Todd Moyer remains the highest-placed Monarch individually. After opening the championship with a three-under 68 on Tuesday, Moyer followed with a two-over par 74 in round two to sit tied for 14th at 142 (-1).
  • Senior Beau Brewer posted a one-over par 73, highlighted by a team-best four birdies. Brewer improved 19 spots in the standings and is now tied for 41st with a tournament score of 146 (+3).
  • Sophomore William Plageman rounded out the Methodist lineup. Plageman played solid golf through much of the day and sat at one-over through 10 holes before a difficult closing stretch led to a seven-over 79. He enters round three with a two-day total of 152 (+9).
UP NEXT
Following the completion of round two, the championship field will be cut to the top 18 teams and the top six individual golfers not on advancing teams for the final two rounds of the NCAA Championship.
