ROME, Ga. –  Senior Todd Moyer and freshman Griffin Lawlor tally two stellar outings during all three rounds of play for the Monarchs at the Gate City Invitational, hosted by Greensboro College, landing themselves USA South Men's Golfer of the Week and and USA South Men's Rookie Golfer of the Week, respectively for No. 5 Methodist University men's golf as announced by the league offices on Wednesday afternoon.
 
This marks Lawlor's first conference recognition of his collegiate career, with Moyer most recently earning USA South Men's Rookie Golfer of the Week on the week of April 15th, 2026 alongside his now assistant coach Beau Brewer '26, who won Co-USA South Men's Golfer of the Week for that respective week.
 
Lawlor began the week scoring 71 (-1) on the first 18 holes, following that by a smooth even par round of 72 (E) in the closing stanza for day one's action. Lawlor began day two scoring birdies on the par-5 fourth and the par-3 thirteenth to match his round two tally of 72 (E), for a three day total of 215 (-1) for T-11th overall.
 
Moyer began the tournament strong, recording three birdies in his first five holes of the round to eventually tabulate a solid 72 (E) for the opening round. Things got a little rocky for Moyer in the second 18 on Monday, firing a 73 (+1) to close day one. However, Moyer would skyrocket up the leaderboard in the final round, collecting four birdies in the outing to move up 14 spots in the field while firing a 69 (-3) to total a 214 (-2) for T-5th, respectively.
