FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer team commanded the ball from start to finish against Piedmont University, resulting in six different goal scorers in propelling the Monarchs to a 7-2 cruising victory over Piedmont University inside Duggins Soccer Stadium on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Carson Stretz connected with his first goal of the game, for his fourth goal of the season, coming off a late deflection by sophomore Gerard Bradley, handed over to senior Angel Alarcon for the pairing of assists in Stretz's strike, driving the Monarchs up 1-0 in the 16th minute.
- Junior Cameron Lambert got in on the action with a goal of his own in the 22nd minute, with Alarcon displaying a beautiful cross of the right corner of the attack zone for Methodist to strike to a 2-0 lead over the Lions.
- The scoring continued for the Monarchs, with senior Josh Mott drawing a PK goal off Anthony Bonilla's foul for Piedmont, skyrocketing Methodist to a dominant 3-0 lead in the 23rd minute.
- Gerard Bradley added to his season tally, cashing in on his fourth goal of his 2026 campaign off Angel Alarcon's career and season high third assist against Piedmont. This goal came in the 25th minute from Alarcon's deflected shot off Kelton Reynolds's hands to extend the first half shutout for the Monarchs, 4-0.
- Sophomore Nate Mahouchick recorded his first collegiate career goal, occurring after a late offside foul on the Lions. Mahouchick's goal came off the Monarchs fourth PK attempt of the contest, soaring the Monarchs to a 6-1 lead in the 79th minute over Piedmont.
- Ten minutes later, senior Camden Hancox snagged his first of two goals in the contest, off a quick pass from freshman Hunter Talley in the 35th minute, to put this game out of reach for the Lions late in the first half, 5-0 in favor of the Monarchs. Hancox's goal became the final goal of the contest against the Lions, coming off freshman Garrett Williams' pass from midfield to complete a 7-2 victory for Methodist.
- Nico Serna and Damian Sanchez-Alvarado landed a PK goal each, coming off late defensive miscues for Methodist. Both goals for Serna and Sanchez-Alvarado came for Piedmont in the 72nd and 82nd minutes, respectively.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Camden Hancox was dominant from start to finish, recording his first career two-goal outing, marking out with six shots, four of those being on goal.
- Josh Mott collected a solid offensive performance with one goal off four shots. The Monarchs early lead against Piedmont came about from Gerard Bradley's one goal outing as well, recording two shots, both being on goal with one assist in the process.
- Senior Trey Gohr logged three saves with one goal against, off seven shots for his fifth victory of his 2026 campaign, to advance to a 5-0-2 record overall.
