ROME, Ga. - Led by senior Carson Stretz and freshman Harper Evans, domination on the field and the court would propel the Monarchs to a 2-0 finish in men's soccer and a 1-1 beginning to conference action in women's volleyball, leading Stretz and Evans to earn weekly conference honors for their respective sports for the week three, ending on September 20th, as announced by the conference offices on Monday afternoon.
 
Evans would go on to earn her second-straight Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week honors after setting numerous career and season-highs in the Monarchs conference opening matchups against Pfeiffer University and William Peace University. For the first time since Steven Floyd won USA South Player of the Week for the week ending on October 5th, 2025, Stretz would become the first weekly USA South award recipient for Methodist as the USA South Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
 
Evans collected a slew of career-highs in the Monarchs first conference victory of 2026 against the Falcons, 3-1. Evans, in four sets, recorded six kills off ten attempts, for a hitting percentage of .600. Evans contributed to Methodist's controlling offensive tally with a career-high 40 assists, with one service ace, a total block, and matching a career-best of 12 digs in the process. Evans added to her stellar season totals in Saturday afternoon's five-set clash against William Peace, recording two kills in seven attempts, for a hitting percentage of .143. Evans matched her career second-best with 31 assists against the Pacers, while scoring two service aces, and matching a career-high 12 digs for the third time in 2026.
 
Stretz was an offensive force for the Monarchs in their 4-0 victory over Shaw University on Wednesday, September 16th, recording four points off two goals, while striking six shots, with five being on goal. Stretz's dominance in possession of the ball continued heading into Methodist's weekend clash against Piedmont University, contributing two points off one goal, being Stretz's lone shot and shot-on-goal of the afternoon in the Monarchs commanding 7-2 win over the Lions.
