HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josh Mott opened the contest with an early strike for his first goal of the year off the pitch from senior Angel Alarcon, just inside the box during the second minute of action.
- Jarbin Rodriguez for the Hornets followed suit with a goal of his own during the ninth minute of play, cashing in for a goal in the low right corner of the net off the pass by Yoha Mulugeta.
- Josh Mott matched his tally during the opening minutes, sending the goal into the high-center section of the net off the quick pass by Angel Alarcon, marking Alarcon's second assist of the contest in the 16th minute of play.
- The remainder of the first half featured both squads festering opportunities to score off each other, as the Monarchs recorded two shots off senior Carson Stretz and one from junior Cameron Lambert heading into the half.
