FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Methodist University Head Men's Golf Coach
Steve Conley has been named the recipient of the Thomas R. and Elizabeth E. McLean Foundation's annual Methodist University Coach of the Year Award.

The Award, now in its seventh year, recognizes the top head coach at the University as voted on by a committee of Methodist University faculty and staff. Conley is the first repeat winner of the award and joins
Tom Austin,
Francie Barragan,
Tom Inczauskis, Duane Ross and
Justin Terranova as winners of the prestigious award.

Conley led the Methodist men's golf team to its 11th NCAA Division III National Championship in 2015. The Monarchs rallied from a five-stroke deficit on the fourth and final day and ultimately won the tournament by three strokes over second place LaGrange. The National Championship was the program's first since 2010, and all 11 titles have come under Conley's direction.

A 20-time conference Coach of the Year and a 15-time regional Coach of the Year, Conley was awarded his sixth National Coach of the Year when he was named the Dave Williams National Coach of the Year for Division III in June. In addition to his 11 NCAA Championships, Conley has helped lead MU to 20 conference titles and 13 Top 3 finishes at the NCAA Championships in his 28 years at the helm of the MU men's golf program. During his time, he has coached 45 PING All-Americans, nine individual NCAA Champions and 18 scholar All-Americans.

The McLean Foundation Coach of the Year in 2010, Conley is also a GCAA Hall of Fame inductee.
