MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - The Methodist women's golf team finished the Richmond Spiders Invitational on Tuesday in 11th place at 648 (330-318). The University of Maryland won the tournament with a 600.
Junior
Susan Martin led the Monarchs with a 156 (76-80) to tie for 26th. Sophomore
Paige Caldwell finished in a tie for 35th at 159 (81-78). Junior
Alana Swain shot a 163 (87-76) to tie for 45th and freshman
Kelsey Magnine shot 170 (86-84) to finish in a tie for 64th. Juinor
Allyson Burak tied for 76th at 176 (90-86). The team shaved 12 strokes off their score from round one to round two moving up the scoreboard to 11th out of the 14 teams competing.
Junko Suzuki and
Sara Dickson competed as individuals during the tournament. Suzuki shot 171 (90-81) to finish tied for 67th and Dickson shot 178 (89-89) to finish in a tie for 78th.
The women will travel to the Ross Resorts Invitational Oct. 27-28 in Southern Pines, N.C.
