WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Methodist volleyball took the 2-0 lead and went on to win 3-1 over Salem College Friday night.
The Monarchs (15-11) cruised to a 25-8 win in the first set and won 25-19 in the second set. The Spirits (10-18) came back to take a 1-13 lead in the third set. Methodist tried to make a late run, but Salem won 17-25. The Monarchs regrouped in the fourth set and won 25-14 to take the match.
Freshman
Jalesty Washington led the team with 11 kills while junior
Allison Averitt had eight kills. Washington added five aces and two solo blocks and freshman
Kelsey Yates had 39 assists for the Monarchs. Freshman Olivia Whiteheart had five kills. Junior
Jordan Grady paced the team with 15 digs while senior
Sara Yeatman added 11.
Methodist will face Shenandoah and Averett Saturday in Danville, Va.
