FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team hosted their second consecutive NCAA Division II opponent Wednesday afternoon and lost 8-1 to the Pfeiffer Falcons.

Matthew Taylor and Justin Campbell lost 8-4 at number one doubles as did Brad Tulenko and Sean Teeter at number three doubles. Dylan Knox and Rob Schmidt fought back at number two, but lost 9-7.

Tulenko picked up the Monarchs' only win with a 7-5, 2-6, (10-5) victory at number five singles. Taylor lost 6-3, 6-3 at number one and Campbell lost 6-2, 6-0 at number two. Schmidt fell 6-2, 6-1 while Knox was right in there falling 6-4, 6-3 at number four. Teeter lost the first set 6-1 at number six before falling in a tiebreaker in the second set 7-6 (7-4).

The Monarchs will be in Hilton Head, S.C. for spring break competing in seven matches Mar. 1-5.
