Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Lynchburg College scored the first goal and took control midway through the first half as they took the 17-4 win over the Methodist Monarchs.
Lynchburg scored the first goal 1:43 into the game, but the Monarchs came back with a goal from senior
Andrea DiStefano. The Hornets scored the next two goals, but DiStefano cut their lead to one scoring her second goal with 17:08 remaining in the half. Lynchburg scored 11 unanswered goals in the first half to lead 14-2 at halftime.
The Hornets scored two more goals in the second half before DiStefano scored her third goal with 8:40 to go in the game. Lynchburg added another goal before freshman
Jasmine Stephens scored her first collegiate goal with 1:46 left on the clock.
Junior goalkeeper
Lindsey Cosgray had 12 saves in the game for Methodist while Christina Tran had one save for the Hornets.
The Monarchs will be back on Tuesday to host Susquehanna at 3 pm.
