GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Monarchs won 8-1 over USA South opponent Greensboro College in their first conference match of the season.

Methodist (7-2, 1-0) swept the doubles competition with three wins. Justin Campbell and Matt Taylor won 9-7 at number one and Rob Schmidt and Steven Burkett won 8-1 at number two. Sean Teeter and Brad Tulenko won 8-4 at number three.

Taylor lost 6-1, 6-3 at number one, but Methodist won the remaining matches including Schmidt taking the 6-0, 6-0 win at number two. Campbell won 6-0, 6-1 at number three and Tulenko won 6-0, 6-1 at number four. Teeter won 6-2, 6-4 at number five and Burkett won 6-2, 6-0 at number six.

The Monarchs will host Averett on Saturday at 1 pm.
