FERRUM, Va. - The Methodist men's tennis team got back on track Sunday with a 9-0 shutout over Ferrum College.
The Monarchs opened up with a 3-0 sweep in doubles.
Matthew Taylor and
Justin Campbell won 8-2 at number one and
Rob Schmidt and
Dylan Knox won 8-2 at number two.
Rob Currier and
Steven Burkett finished up with the 8-5 win at number three.
Methodist held on to the shutout with six straight singles wins. Taylor won 6-0, 6-1 at number one and Schmidt won 6-1, 6-0 at number two. Knox won 6-3, 6-3 at number three and Campbell won 6-1, 6-1 at number four.
Brad Tulenko won 6-1, 6-0 at number five and
Sean Teeter finished with the 6-3, 6-1 victory at number six.
The Monarchs will hit the road this weekend to face Hampden-Sydney, Bridgewater and Shenandoah.
