HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team won their fifth straight match in Hilton Head on Wednesday with an 8-1 victory over Lebanon Valley College.
The Monarchs went ahead 2-1 after doubles with
Steven Burkett and
Rob Schmidt winning 8-3 at number one and
Neil Perron and
Justin Johnson winning 8-1 at number three.
Rob Currier and
Sean Teeter lost 8-3 at number two.
Methodist swept the singles matches to secure the win.
Matthew Taylor won 3-6, 6-2, 10-2 at number one and
Justin Campbell won 6-0, 6-1 at number two.
Dylan Knox won 6-2, 6-1 at number three and
Brad Tulenko won 6-4, 6-4 at number four.
Neil Perron battled it out for the win at number five 6-7 (7-9), 6-2, 10-4 and
Greg Archi finished off with a 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 win at number six.
The Monarchs will finish their spring break trip against East Stroudsburg University and Grand Raids Community College on Thursday.
