FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team won their fourth straight match with a 7-2 victory over Guilford College.
The Monarchs took the 2-1 lead after doubles.
Matthew Taylor and
Robert Clayton won 8-1 at number one and
Steven Burkett and
Reid Baker won 8-4 at number two.
Steve Strawn and
Ricky Aybar lost 8-5 at number three.
The Monarchs locked in the win with five of six singles wins. Taylor won 6-3, 6-0 at number one while Clayton lost 6-3, 6-3 at number two. Baker won 6-1, 6-0 at number three and
Eric Smith won 6-2, 6-0 at number four.
Warren Robinson won 6-1, 6-2 at number five and Burkett won 6-2, 6-1 at number six.
Methodist will travel to Averett on Friday for a 2:30 p.m. match.
