FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team earned their fifth straight win on Saturday with a 9-0 victory over Ferrum College.
Matthew Taylor and
Robert Clayton won 8-3 at number one doubles and
Eric Smith and
Steve Strawn won 8-1 at number three.
Steven Burkett and
Reid Baker fought to the 9-7 win at number two to give Methodist the 3-0 lead after doubles.
Taylor won 6-0, 6-4 at number one singles and Clayton won 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Smith won 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) at number three and
Warren Robinson won 6-2, 6-2 at number four. Burkett won 6-1, 6-1 at number five and
Brad Tulenko won 6-1, 6-0 at number six.
The Monarchs will host Shenandoah next Saturday at 10 a.m.
