Monarchs Fall to Christopher Newport

Senior Lindsey Cosgray was recognized in her final home game

Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Christopher Newport built an 11-2 halftime lead before finishing with the 20-2 win over the Methodist lacrosse team Saturday.

The Captains scored two quick goals before Methodist's Kate Kaus scored on a free position to cut the lead in half. Christopher Newport responded with four straight goals before Amber Jurkovac drove down and scored for the Monarchs. The Captains built an 11-2 halftime lead before scoring nine unanswered goals in the second half for the 20-2 win.

Kaitlin Quigley led Christopher Newport with seven goals and two assists. Meghan Harkey scored four goals with four assists.

Methodist goalkeeper Lindsey Cosgray made 17 saves in the final home game. Cosgray was recognized before the game for her outstanding career.

The Monarchs will travel to Ferrum on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. start.
