BURLINGTON, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team fell to N.C. Wesleyan in the USA South Tournament semifinals Saturday afternoon.
The Monarchs' number one doubles team,
Matthew Taylor and
Robert Clayton lost 8-5 while
Reid Baker and
Steven Burkett lost 8-1 at number two.
Eric Smith and
Steve Strawn lost 8-3 at number three.
Methodist dropped six singles matches with the Bishops advancing to the tournament championship. Taylor lost 6-4, 6-2 at number one and Clayton lost 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Baker lost 6-1, 6-1 at number three and
Warren Robinson lost 6-1, 6-0 at number four. Smith and Burkett lost 6-0, 6-0 at number five and six singles respectively.
