FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Mary Washington's Parker Talbert pitched the complete game to help the Eagles to the 6-2 win over LaGrange in game six of the NCAA Division III Baseball South Regional.
Mary Washington put two runs on the board first after Eric Rehbein hit a two-RBI single up the middle to score Shane Sixsmith and Seth Jordan.
LaGrange came right back with two runs in the bottom of the third with RBI from Derek Hooper and Robbie Shelton to tie the game. The Eagles responded with a run in the fourth on a bases loaded walk. Mary Washington added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh. Will Wright drove in both runs with a triple to right center to secure the 6-2 win.
Shane Sixsmith hit 3-for-3 for Mary Washington while Wright finished 2-for-4.
LaGrange's Eric Heath hit 2-for-4.
Parker Talbert pitched the complete game win for Mary Washington giving up seven hits with four strikeouts.
Trevor Tullock took the loss for the Panthers pitching five innings and giving up four runs. Jonathan Love, James Yancey and Jacob Mauldin finished in relief.
Mary Washington advances to face Shenandoah on Friday at 11 a.m. LaGrange will take on Salisbury at 2:30 p.m. in an elimination game.
