DECATUR, Ga. - The Methodist men's tennis team finished their weekend in Georgia with a 9-0 shutout over Piedmont College.
The Monarchs opened up with three wins in doubles with
Matthew Taylor and
Duncan Miller winning 8-6 at number one.
Robert Clayton and
Reid Baker won 8-4 at number two and
Steven Burkett and
Sean Teeter won 8-4 at number three.
Methodist dominated singles earning six straight wins to secure the shutout. Taylor won 6-1, 6-2 at number one and Miller won 6-3, 6-3 at number two.
Austin Wang won 6-2, 6-4 at number three and
Greg Patterson won the fourth singles match 6-1, 6-0. Clayton won 6-1, 6-2 at number five and
Brad Tulenko won 6-1, 7-5 at number six.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Barton College at 2 p.m.
