Men's Tennis Earns Win Over Pride

Greg Patterson earned a win in singles and doubles

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis got back on track on Sunday with a 9-0 shutout against Greensboro College. 

The Monarchs opened the match with three straight 8-0 wins in doubles. Matthew Taylor and Greg Patterson won at number one and Austin Wang and Robert Clayton won at number two. Reid Baker and Sean Teeter finished up with the win at number three.

Methodist finished with the shutout after earning all six singles wins. Taylor won 6-0, 6-2 at number one and Wang won 6-4, 6-0 at number two. Patterson won 6-1, 6-2 at number three and Clayton won 6-0, 6-0 at number four. Brad Tulenko won 6-1, 6-0 at number five and Lawrence Salmon won 6-0, 6-0 at number six.

The Monarchs will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Ferrum on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.
