ROME, Ga. - After a tight first half, Berry College rallied for a 9-1 second half to defeat the Monarchs 19-8 on Tuesday.
Both teams traded goals early before Berry took the 3-1 lead in the first five minutes.
Amber Jurkovac and
Jasmine Stephens scored to tie the game at three with 21:58 left to play. The score was tied again at five and seven, but Berry closed the half with three goals to lead 10-7.
The Vikings picked up where they left off in the second half and rattled off nine goals to lead 19-7. Stephens scored in the final minute on a free position goal to finish the scoring.
Stephens led the Monarchs with five goals while Jurkovac finished with two and
Abby Harmon scored one.
Emily Forester made eight saves in goal for Methodist and Taylor Martin had six stops for Berry.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Saturday when they host LaGrange College at 1 p.m.
