GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team wrapped up their season with a 5-0 loss to N.C. Wesleyan in the USA South Tournament Semifinals.
The Bishops jumped out to the 3-0 lead after doubles.
Matthew Taylor and
Duncan Miller lost 8-3 at number one and
Robert Clayton and
Austin Wang lost 8-1 at number two.
Brad Tulenko and
Sean Teeter lost 8-2 at number three.
N.C. Wesleyan clinched the match with wins at number three and four singles. Wang lost 6-3, 6-1 and Clayton lost 6-3, 6-2. Taylor won his first set 7-6 (7-4), but lost the second 6-0 before the match was called. Miller was trailing 6-3, 3-2 when the match finished.
The Monarchs finished 14-7 overall this season.
