FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team lost 9-0 to regionally ranked Christopher Newport on Saturday to finish conference play.
Matthew Taylor and
Duncan Miller lost 8-2 at number one doubles and
Brad Tulenko and
Sean Teeter lost 8-3 at number three.
Austin Wang and
Robert Clayton battled to a 9-7 loss at number two.
Christopher Newport held on for the shutout with six wins in singles. Taylor lost 6-0, 6-0 at number one and Miller lost 6-2, 6-2 at number two. Wang lost 7-5, 6-1 at number three and
Greg Patterson lost 6-4, 6-3 at number four. Clayton lost 6-4, 6-1 at number five and Tulenko lost 6-4, 6-3 at number six.
The Monarchs will host Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday at 1 p.m.
