BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College used a 5-0 run early in the first half to take the lead on their way to earning the 16-6 win.
Brittany Brockway scored the first goal of the game, but the Eagles came back with five straight goals.
Jasmine Stephens stopped the run scoring with 16:01 remaining. Stephens scored her second goal of the game with 10 minutes left in the half, but Bridgewater held the 12-3 lead at halftime.
Methodist played the second half nearly even with Stephens trading goals with the Eagles and finishing with five for the game. Bridgewater finished with the 16-6 win.
Dawn Sanderson had six stops in goal for the Monarchs while Caitlin Boles had six saves for the Eagles.
The game also served as an opportunity to recognize the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. The FOJ is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Monday when they host Reinhardt at 3 p.m.
