Men's Tennis Shuts Out Chowan

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team earned a 9-0 shutout over Chowan University in non-conference action.

The Monarchs took a quick 3-0 lead after doubles. Duncan Miller and Hans Baumstark won 8-3 at number one and Robert Clayton and Greg Patterson won 8-0 at number two. Austin Wang and Dillon Sullivan teamed up at number three and won 8-3.

Miller won 12 straight games to win 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles. Patterson won 6-3, 6-1 at number two and Baumstark won 6-4, 6-0 at number three. Wang won 6-3, 6-2 at number four and Sullivan earned the 6-1, 6-0 victory at number five. Salmon wrapped up with the 6-1, 6-1 win at number six.

Methodist will be back in action tomorrow when they host Queens at 3 p.m.
