Box Score DECATUR, Ga. - The Methodist women's lacrosse team won their third straight game on Saturday with a 14-12 victory at Agnes Scott College.
Methodist's (3-3, 2-1) took the early lead with two quick goals from
Hope Motahari and
Ashley Kiser. Agnes Scott went on a 4-1 run to take the lead, but the Monarchs came back with four straight goals. The Scotties stopped the run with a goal on a free position shot. Methodist held on to take a 9-7 lead at halftime with
Brittany St. Jacques scoring her second goal of the game in the final minute.
Agnes Scott opened the second half with a quick goal, but the Monarchs shut down their opponents over the next 20 minutes while scoring five goals of their own. Motahari scored two of her game-high four goals during the run and the Monarchs held off a late rally from the Scotties to win 14-12.
Motahari led the Monarchs with four goals and five draw controls.
Jasmine Stephens and
Jessie Earp scored three each while St. Jacques finishd with two goals.
Arianna Earle and Kiser had one apiece.
Methodist goalkeeper
Catharine Savage made 12 saves in the win.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Friday when they host Millsaps at 3:30 p.m.
