HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team wrapped up a successful spring break trip with a 6-3 win over Bridgewater College. After a loss to WIttenberg at the beginning of the week, the Monarchs came back with three straight wins.
Methodist (9-2) took advantage of the Eagles early sweeping all three doubles matches.
Duncan Miller and
Hans Baumstark won 8-6 at number one while
Greg Patterson and
Robert Clayton won 8-5 at number two.
Austin Wang and
Lawrence Salmon won 8-6 at number three.
The Monarchs dropped the first three singles matches, but clinched the win with victories at four through six. Miller lost 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 at number one and Baumstark lost 7-5, 6-3 at number two. Patterson lost 6-3, 6-2 at number three. Wang won 7-5, 6-3 at number four and Sullivan won 6-1, 6-0 at number five. Salmon finished up with the 6-1, 7-6 win at number six.
Methodist will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to NCAA Division II Barton College.
