Box Score ROANOKE, Va. - The Methodist women's lacrosse team took control early and dominated in a 17-3 win over Hollins University on Tuesday.
Methodist's
Ashley Kiser scored the first goal of the game on the assist from Cassandra Walter in the first two minutes of play. Hollins tied the game at one, but Methodist came back and rattled off six straight to lead 7-1. Hollins scored once more in the first half, before
Jasmine Stephens scored back-to-back goals and
Brittany St. Jacques and Kiser tallied to give the Monarchs the 11-2 halftime lead. Methodist kept the pressure on in the second half and outscored Hollins 6-1 to earn the 17-3 win.
Walter finished with a team high four goals and four assists while
Hope Motahari and Stephens notched three goals and an assist each. St. Jacques and Kiser scored two goals apiece while
Arianna Earle added a goal and two assists.
Methodist's
Catharine Savage had five saves and Corinne Nicholson made 12 stops for Hollins.
The Monarchs will be back in action Apr. 21 when they host Berry at noon.
