FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team lost 9-0 in the USA South Tournament semifinal to top seeded N.C. Wesleyan.
The Bishops took the 3-0 lead after doubles.
Greg Patterson and
Robert Clayton lost 8-1 at number one and
Austin Wang and
Lawrence Salmon lost 8-2 at number three.
Duncan Miller and
Hans Baumstark lost 8-3 at number one.
Miller dropped the first singles match 6-3, 6-0 and Wang lost 6-2, 6-0 at number four. Salmon lost 6-2, 6-3 at number six and Patterson lost 6-4, 6-1 at number three. Baumstark lost 6-1, 6-4 at number two and
Dillon Sullivan dropped the fifth singles match 6-3, 6-3.
N.C. Wesleyan advances to the USA South Championship on Sunday. Methodist wraps up their season at 17-5 with the most wins in program history since 1992.
