ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Methodist men's tennis team completed its match against North Carolina Wesleyan College that was postponed last week due to weather.

Doubles play had already been completed before storms halted the match last week, with Methodist dropping their matches at first doubles 8-2, second 8-1, and third 8-5.  Thus the athletes would return to action starting with singles play.

The Battling Bishops would continue to build on their doubles performances from last week as Duncan Miller battled hard but fell 6-4 6-2 at first singles.  Hans Baumstark dropped his match at second singles 6-2 6-3.  Greg Patterson lost 6-1 6-1 at third, with Austin Wang falling 6-3, 6-0 at fourth.  Dillon Sullivan lost 6-1, 6-2 at fifth, while Lawrence Salmon fell 6-3 6-0 at sixth.

The Monarchs finished the regular season tied for second in the USA South, but received the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. They will kick off the tournament with the quarterfinals Friday at 1 pm against No. 5 Greensboro College in Burlington, N.C..
