Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Methodist women's lacrosse team wrapped up regular-season play with a 16-6 loss at Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon.

The Monarchs (5-11, 3-5 USA South) opened the scoring a took a 1-0 lead when
Jessie Earp scored an unassisted goal at the 25:47 mark before Greensboro (8-6, 5-3 USA South) responded with four consecutive goals to take a 4-1 lead at the 21:23 mark.

Alexa Besch began the scoring run 51 seconds after Earp's goal, and Kirstin Norris added a trio of goals for the aforementioned 4-1 lead.
Cassie Walter halted the run with free position goal at the 18:13 mark to pull MU within a pair of goals at 4-2. However, the Pride scored four the final goals of the first half, including an unassisted tally by Norris with nine seconds on the clock, to take a 9-3 lead into the break.

Greensboro stretched its lead to 11-3 by the 25:27 mark of the second half on goals by Amira Khatib and Besch. Walter sandwiched a pair of goals around a tally by Norris to make it a 12-5 game in favor of GC with 18:53 to play, but four straight goals by the Pride gave them a 16-5 lead with 1:24 to play before Walter capped the day's scoring with her fifth goal of the game with 56 seconds to play.

Greensboro outshot MU, 32-13, and won 17 draw controls to just seven for the Monarchs.
Ashley Cannon made seven saves in goal for the Monarchs. Kaleigh Hemstock started the cage for GC and made six saves with five goals allowed in 53:45. Dominique Jordan played the final 6:15 and allowed one goal.

Madison Antor picked up three ground balls for the Monarchs, and
Hope Motahari had four draw controls.
Oriana Clayton added three caused turnovers.

For Greensboro, Norris finished with six goals and an assist. Besch scored four times, and Ashlynn Parks added three goals and a pair of assists. Norris and Parks each picked up five ground balls, and Parks also had five draw controls.

Methodist, which earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming USA South Conference Tournament, will take on No. 3 Ferrum on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
