FERRUM, Va. -- The Methodist men's tennis team topped host Ferrum, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
Playing at Burrows-Skeens Tennis Complex, the Monarchs (15-6) swept the Panthers (2-9) in doubles action to start the day.
John Dangerfield and
Greg Patterson teamed up to defeat Garret Freese and Tyler at No. 2, 8-1.
Teal Howard and
Max Mancini paired up to best Danny Khuorn and Kevin Minter at No. 3, 8-1.
Later in the singles matches,
Taylor Buchholz topped Taylor Napier, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 2, and
Dillon Sullivan defeated Freese at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1. Dangerfield added a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lee at No. 5.
Methodist will travel down to Georgia to play at LaGrange on Saturday morning. Match play is scheduled to start at 11:00 am in LaGrange, Ga.
