ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Methodist men's tennis team competed against N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday and came up short, 7-2. The Monarchs now are 6-3 on the season, and the Battling Bishops improved to 4-3.
The pair of RJ Clement and Teal Howard grabbed Methodist's only point in doubles play, defeating Fernando Nardelli and Eduardo Ugalde, 8-2.
In the sixth singles matchup, Kyle Mersereau added MU's second point with a 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 close victory over Ugalde.
The Monarchs will travel to Lookout Mountain, Ga. to compete against Covenant on Mar. 27.
