FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist men's tennis team posted a 6-3 win against Guilford on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles competition,
R.J. Clement and
Jacob Oehser defeated Tate Godwin and Mesa Martorell, 8-3, at the first position, while
John Dangerfield and
Wynn Johnson posted an 8-3 win against Chasen Chacon and Graham Pearson at second doubles. The Monarchs completed the sweep in doubles when
Brock Ebersole and
Reid Rose earned an 8-3 win against levi Bruff and Jon-Anthony Thomas.
In singles competition, MU split the six matches starting with Clement defeating Godwin, 6-2, 6-1, at the first slot before Johnson fought to a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win against Aaron Smedley at the third position. Dangerfield sealed the victory with a 7-6, 6-3 win against Bruff at the fifth slot.
Methodist returns to action Saturday, March 4, at home against Averett beginning at 2 pm.
