HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Methodist men's tennis team was defeated, 8-0, by N.C. Wesleyan in USA South action on Wednesday.

With the loss, the Monarchs snap a six-match winning streak to start the year and drop to 6-1 overall behind a 1-1 mark in league play. Meanwhile, the Battling Bishops improve to 7-3 on the season with a 3-0 record in conference action.

The team of
John Dangerfield and
Wynn Johnson fought to a 9-7 loss at the second position against David Chang and David Appelquist as NCWC took all three doubles matches.

R.J. Clement dropped his match with Sebastian Sikh at the first position, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, while
Jacob Oehser was also defeated in three sets, 4-6, 7-5, 10-8, at the second slot against Ioannis Brokakis. The Bishops won the remaining three decisions in straight sets. The match in the sixth slot was not finished.
