LaGRANGE, Ga. -- The Methodist men's tennis team fell 9-0 to N.C. Wesleyan in the semifinals of the USA South Tournament at the McCluskey Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

With the result, the Monarchs finish the season with a 13-4 mark with three of their four losses coming to the Battling Bishops. Meanwhile, NCWC improves to 18-4 overall and will face Averett in the finals of the league tournament tomorrow at 10 am.

In doubles, the pairing of David Chang and Ben Tolhurst claimed an 8-4 victory against the team of
John Dangerfield and
Wynn Johnson at the second slot, while David Appelqvist and J.D. Telles defeated
Jacob Groce and
Brock Ebersole, 8-6, at the third position. At the top spot, Sebastian Sikh, who was named the USA South Player of the Year, and Ioannis Brokakis battled past the tandem of
Jacob Oehser and
R.J. Clement, 9-7, to complete the sweep of doubles play.

The Bishop also swept the Monarchs in singles play on Friday. Dangerfield fell to Mark Sokolov 3-6, 7-6, 10-7. Dangerfield was the only Monarch to win a set in the contest. Clement was defeated by Sikh at first singles with a 6-4, 6-4 count.
