RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Methodist men's tennis team tallied its fifth shutout victory on the season after earning a 9-0 win at William Peace on Sunday afternoon.

With the results, the Monarchs move to 9-2 on the year behind a 5-2 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Pacers drop to 1-10 overall with an 0-8 record in league action.

In doubles competition,
R.J. Clement and
Reid Rose dropped the team of Davis Felts and Patrick Ralph 8-1 at the first position. The duo of
Wynn Johnson and
John Dangerfield as well as the pairing of
Jack Holloway and
Justin Tegen each earned 8-0 victories at the second and third slot, respectively.

Clement led off singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Patrick Newsome, while Johnson claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win against Felts. Rose defeated Ralph 6-1, 6-4 at the three slot, while Dangerfield registered a 6-0 6-1 win against Will Hall at the fourth position. Holloway earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at the fifth slot, while
Max Linder closed the match sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Michael Savage.
